Description
Your role in the JoJo story…
Location: Battersea, Hybrid
Reporting to: Merchandiser
We are looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to join us! You'll be working closely with your Merchandiser, with real ownership of the planning and delivery of your department through strong analysis and commercial insight. You'll work closely with Buying to make sure the right product is in the right place at the right time, and your insight will shape the decisions we make.
A peek into your daily adventures:
• Own the day-to-day trading rhythm for your area, from weekly trade analysis through to seasonal performance. You'll turn the data into clear recommendations and take them to the Merchandiser and Buying team with confidence
• Build and maintain WSSI, OTB and seasonal reforecasts, balancing live trade, customer demand and lessons learnt to shape commercially sound plans
• Dig into sales, stock, intake, sell-through, margin and availability by channel, store and product area, spotting opportunities and risks early and recommending what to do about them
• Keep a close eye on stock health and live trade, escalating issues and driving action that protects sales, margin and the customer experience
• Lead the planning and accurate execution of price changes, promotions and markdowns across systems
• Partner with Retail, Ecommerce, Warehouse and Supply Chain to solve stock, delivery and capacity challenges before they become problems
• Coach and manage the Merchandising Admin Assistants, setting priorities, sharing knowledge and helping them grow
• Deputise for your Merchandiser in trading meetings and represent the department with senior stakeholders
Skills that make you shine:
• [2–3+ years'] proven experience as an Assistant Merchandiser (or similar) in retail, ideally within fashion, childrenswear or a fast-moving product category
• Strong commercial judgement, with the numerical and analytical skills to interpret trends and turn them into confident, well-reasoned recommendations
• Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience of merchandising systems, including building and managing WSSI
• Experience of managing the end-to-end seasonal planning and reforecasting cycle with minimal supervision
• A natural collaborator who builds strong relationships across Buying, Retail, Ecommerce and Supply Chain, and can challenge constructively when needed
Just to give you a taste of our culture, we’ll be looking for you to:
